The Indian River County Bar Association is again partnering with Florida Rural Legal Services in its first quarter Ask-A-Lawyer Event, scheduled from 10 am until 2 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Indian River County Main Library, 2nd floor (across from the courthouse). We are asking attorneys to please, if they can, volunteer an hour or two of their time to assist walk-in clients. As in the past, walk in potential clients will be asked to fill out a form by Florida Rural Legal Services, which includes party names, so volunteer attorneys will be able to do a basic conflicts check if needed. We typically see a wide variety of issues, so attorneys in any practice area are welcome. If you are available to volunteer, please email Cynthia Hall at Cynthia@vandevoordelaw.com with the times you are available. Please also mark your calendars for the Law Week Ask-a-Lawyer event, currently scheduled for May 4, 2017.
Florida Rural Legal Services has also asked for our help to find an attorney to represent a tenant in negotiating repairs and/or early termination of a residential lease. There may be possible code enforcement issues. If you would be willing to potentially represent this client, pending a conflict search, please contact me at Cynthia@vandevoordelaw.com.
